To promote the benefit of young people, mainly girls between the ages of 5 and 25 years, in the UK and elsewhere. In particular to preserve and protect good health, relieve poverty and distress, advance education and training and provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation.

Young Steps targets young people that are predominantly hard to reach, socially isolated and disengaged from mainstream services. The needs of these young people are often relating to ill health, abuse, behavioural problems and exclusion from Education, Education & Employment.
